Day 1: Globe Trekkers Continued...

Yesterday was the first day of Buds & Blossoms Summer Camp! We kicked off Globe Trekkers week by taking a trip Down Under! The campers began the day by watching a slide show about Australia, just to make sure they knew their stuff before heading out on a real Australian "walkabout". They did not spot any kangaroos or koalas, but they did do some serious frog catching at Blithewold's rock and water gardens. After working up a sweat, the campers needed some cooling off and by vote all campers were in favor of a game of "Drip, Drip, Drop" ( a much wetter version of "Duck, Duck, Goose"). Later, the campers made some Aboriginal artwork using pointillism, while listening to Australian didgeridoo music. Before the campers left the Outback for the day, they made there very own boomerangs and got to test them out on Blithewold's expansive lawns.

Have you or your family ever been to Australia? Where is the farthest place you have gone on vacation?

Stay tuned to find out where in the world Globe Trekker week take us tomorrow!!!
