Week 2: Day 3

The campers began the day by making scrap paper mosaics to reuse paper that would have otherwise been thrown away. After a game of camoflauge, they took a trip to the frog pond, where they caught 5 frogs! Before doing an energy and your environment booklet, the campers played a quick game of drip, drip, drop! They learned about kinetic energy and then did an experiment with a fruit powered clock, solar UFO and wind bags...phew!!! And that's not all!
The campers talked about how different energy sources, such as power plants, wood burning, coal, water, wind and sun effect our environment. To end the day, the Planeteers made trinket jars and votive candle holders out of recycled jars.
