DAY 2: PLANETEERS WEEK!

The campers began the day by making silly sock puppets! Later, Mr. Burke, from the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Center, talked to the campers about the importance of recycling and what to recycle. Later, watched Reuse News: Recycling in Rhode Island that taught them what happens to the things they put in the recycle bins. The kids made ooey gooey solar s’mores, which got pretty messy, but really tasty! After learning about what’s in a landfill, the campers made some not-so-tasty trash pizza! They ended the day with a game of kickball and listening to Ms. Jillian read The Wump World, a story about the importance of caring for our planet. How will the campers turn trash into treasure tomorrow?
