Day 3: Globe Trekkers Cont.

Hola Amigos!
It is already Day 3 of camp?!?! Time sure does fly when you are having fun! Today the campers traveled to sunny Mexico! ( A big change from Antarctica, brrrr.) They began the day with a popsicle puzzle fiesta! Then campers dove into a lesson about Mexican culture by watching an interesting slideshow. Campers went to the frog pond and learned about community life in a pond. They found small fish, dragon fly larva, snails, leeches, diving beetles, clams and lots and lots of frogs (10)! Jace and Alan were our star frog catchers, but everyone shared in the fun! Our very adventurous counselor, Ms. Jillian even waded into the pond to catch larger frogs and search for tadpoles and other animal life. Later, the campers made Mexican yarn paintings, watched a movie about Mexican families and created Mexican tin art. As always, we ended our day by drawing or reflecting on the days lessons in our journals.
