Day 5: Last Day for the Globe Trekkers

Can you believe that our first week of summer camp is over?!?! Where does the time go? Exploring Blithewold sure is a great way to spend the summer! Not only did we go on Blithewold adventures, but today at camp we went on an African Safari! The campers began their day by making bookmarks and writing their names using ancient hieroglyphics. After a trip to the greenhouse and display gardens, where campers sampled a sour orange and witnessed a hummingbird at flight, it was time for the Family Fun Friday festivities!!!
Christopher Carbone was today's performer and boy was he funny! Christopher had all the kids jumping, dancing, clapping and singing the entire time. After the performance, campers kept the face painters, who were students from Brown University, very busy! They made rain sticks and played games before heading back to camp for an Eyewitness Jungle movie. Then, the campers made African masks and ended the day by listening to Ms. Jillian read an African folktale, Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears, while enjoying ice pops. What a great week!

Did you have fun at camp this week? What was your favorite destination to learn about?
